Alimak Mining

Manroc is the only Alimak mining contractor, in Canada, to have led and stayed at the forefront of mining technologies / applications relating to narrow vein horizontal stope mining of narrow ore body configurations. We have been successful in applying innovative mining techniques that assist our customers in lowering production costs and increasing production rates. Customers routinely call on Manroc to solve their complex narrow vein mining operational issues.

Manroc’s efficient mining method now makes it possible to extract previously uneconomic and inaccessible ore reserves. Alimak narrow vein horizontal LH stoping is now an integral part of the mining plan at both the Hemlo Mines (Northern Ontario). Both Hemlo Mines have seen substantial improvements in the grade control program, reductions in external dilution and better than industry standards on productivity and mining costs.

Innovation in the Mining Industry

Over a period of the last 10 years, Manroc has developed a program of manpower training, skills enhancement, capital investment, an unparalleled commitment to safety and innovation in mining techniques that is unmatched in our industry. These programs have resulted in the profitable extraction of narrow deposits, in the presence of difficult ground conditions, at Winston Lake, Hemlo Camp, Mussel White, Snap Lake NWT, Manitoba,  Myra Falls - BC, Bulyahula Africa, Honduras and Guatemala.

Our Mining crews are firmly committed to safety – no matter where we mine. Our employees ensure the necessary controls and care are in place to always exceed our customers expectations on productivity and costs. Our staff of skilled professional mining veterans include professional engineers, rock mechanics’, raise miners, mechanics / millwrights, welders, machinists and supervisors to name a few.

Manroc has developed cable bolting techniques which aide in controlling external dilution and also initiated a program of company training for employees to ensure the best drilling and blasting practices are always applied.

Manroc is committed to exceeding their customer’s expectations when it comes to productivity and cost.  When it comes to the future of Alimak mining – Manroc will be leading the way.
